Srinagar, Oct 22 (KNO): Member of Parliament (MP) Er Rashid on Tuesday condemned the recent killings in Ganderbal, describing them as “highly unfortunate”. “Violence only begets more violence,” Rashid said, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). The Baramulla MP urged all stakeholders, regardless of their affiliations, to end the cycle of violence and prioritise dialogue. “The Ganderbal incident is deeply regrettable. I appeal to all parties involved to understand that killings will not lead us anywhere. We must stop this violence, as it only fuels more destruction. Both state actors and non-state actors need to abandon the path of violence,” he said. Expressing his sorrow over the loss of lives, including a doctor and six others, he said, “Human life is invaluable, and it should be respected, whether it’s a civilian or anyone else. These tragedies should not happen, and we must come together to prevent further bloodshed.” During his visit to Handwara, the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) chief called for a political resolution to ongoing issues. "Whatever the issues are, they should be resolved at the table, not through guns or violence," he said. Notably, seven people, including a doctor, were killed in a terror attack at a construction site in Gagangeer, Ganderbal district, late Sunday evening. The incident also left five others injured, who are currently undergoing surgery—(KNO)
